Eikonic Lens Design

Instructions

1. Start with standard lens design:
  • Enter Back Vertex Power for each lens (sphere only)
  • Enter Base Curves*
  • Enter Minimum Thickness for Most Plus lens
  • Enter vertex distance and Effective Diameter or (eyesize) for frame
  • Start with equal center thickness
  • Select Lens Material
  • Shape, Power, and Spectacle Magnification will be dispalyed on Canvas
2. Adjust Base Curves and Center Thickness to reduce Spectacle Magnification difference:
  • Flatten Base Curve of Most Plus Lens
    • Base Curve should exceed BVP by at least 2.00D
    • Base Curve no flatter than +1.00D
  • Steepen Base Curve of Least Plus Lens
    • Base Curve should be no more than 6.00D above normal
    • Base Curves should be no more than 6.00D apart
