Eikonic Lens Design

Basic Principles of Eikonic Lens Design

Aniseikonic results from a difference in retinal image size and/or shape. Relieving the symptoms of aniseikonia involves creating a pair of lenses that reduce the differences in the size and/or shape of the two retinal images. In an ideal situation we reduce this difference entirely, however, any reduction in the difference should help reduce the symptoms.

The following steps can be used to design a pair of spectacle lenses that will reduce the difference in retinal image size due to the spectacle correction (spectacle magnification): (The eikonic lens design program will simplify the process)
